Life is meant to be LIVED, not just survived. So then why are so many of us just surviving day by day?
I realized that I was just “surviving” a little while back. Life was just wake up, go to work/school, come home, eat, sleep, repeat. The only things I had to look forward to were my trips (as you can see I LOVE to travel and I travel at any chance I can get), or when I have some type of event with my family. But then one day I woke up and said to myself, “Why can’t I look forward to every single day of my life?”
Throughout my life, ever since I was about 13, I have struggled with depression and anxiety. It ate me away at certain times, debilitating me, keeping me from functioning. But you know what – I got through it and became a stronger, better me. My battle with my mental health taught me first-hand the importance of self-care, self-love, and just simply going for what you love and believe in.
My entire life I thought I was going to become a doctor. I studied Pre-Med for undergrad, bought the MCAT books, and started looking up medical schools to apply to. It wasn’t until my last semester that I realized that nope – this was not for me. I said to myself, “Okay, Alisa, then what are you going to do?”
I got a nice little 9-5, 40hr/week job that went with my undergraduate degree in order to be able to make a living and move out to live on my own. During this time, I contemplated. HARD. Okay, then what about getting a Master’s in Public Global Health? I love to travel, and I could travel for a living. Thought about that for a while, and then decided that it’s not for me, because the last thing I want to do is get stuck in another 9-5 office job.
So the road to my career goal definitely took the scenic route, but when I figured out what I really wanted to do, which was to start my own business and gain my own financial freedom, it felt like my entire world changed. I started to see life in a whole new bright, shiny, glittery light. I became EXCITED to wake up every day because I knew I got to work on stuff that makes my heart tingle. My work became what I wanted and what I loved, and in addition I created a life for myself where I did what I wanted when I wanted and how I wanted.
We should all be loving and living our lives. We are not trees – we are not stuck in one place and have to stay there forever and ever. And we are in no way simply on this Earth to survive. I am here to guide you through that. My goal is to help young women, just like you, who feel lost and empty and yearning for a better life to find their way to becoming the best possible version of themselves. What’s different about my programs is the fact that I don’t believe that simply throwing information at people about how to start a business really truly helps. I focus on the whole picture: combining health, self-love, self-care WITH boss lady business techniques to get us where we all need to be. Join me today in rising together!
